Abstract

Berbicara adalah salah satu keterampilan yang harus dikuasai oleh mahasiswa. Dalam perkuliahan, mahasiswa biasanya mempresentasikan hasil kerjanya di depan kelas.  Namun, bagi sebagian mahasiswa berbicara di depan kelas seringkali menimbulkan kecemasan, mereka merasa malu, takut atau kurang percaya diri. Kecemasan dan ketakutan dapat menurunkan kualitas berbicara mahasiswa misalnya pada saat presentasi atau pidato. Salah satu upaya mengatasi kecemasan dan ketakutan berbicara adalah dengan melakukan latihan dengan menggunakan media video Virtual Reality (VR). Dengan menggunakan media video VR, mahasiswa dapat berlatih berbicara seolah-olah sedang berbicara di depan kelas. Selain itu, penggunaan VR juga dapat mengurangi kecemasan berbahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan prototipe media pembelajaran berbicara berbasis VR. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan 4D yaitu define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Hasil penelitian ini berupa prototipe media pembelajaran berbicara berbasis VR. Prototipe media yang dikembangkan dapat dioperasikan dengan menggunakan HP Android. Pada saat menggunakan media ini, pengguna merasa sedang berada di hadapan audiens sehingga cocok digunakan untuk melatih keterampilan berbicara khususnya bagi mahasiswa yang kurang percaya diri pada saat berbicara. Berdasarkan hasil validasi produk, secara umum prototipe media pembelajaran berbicara berbasis virtual reality termasuk dalam kategori layak.
